Ironside has cut hair on Main Street since 2009. Haircuts, straight-razor shaves and beard work, done properly and priced plainly. Walk in, or call and we’ll hold a chair.
Sixteen years on the same corner
We opened with three chairs, a radio that didn’t work, and one rule we still keep: nobody gets rushed out of the chair.
Every haircut finishes the same way — hot lather and a straight razor on the neckline. It takes an extra four minutes and it is the difference between a haircut and a good one.
Our three barbers hold Idaho master licenses and have sixty years on the clippers between them. Two of them have been here since the shop opened.
- Walk-ins Always welcome. Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons are the quietest.
- Kids Any age. We keep a booster board and we do not mind a wriggler.
- Access Step-free from the Main Street entrance. One chair has removable arms.
- Payment Cash, card or tap. No minimum.
What things cost
The whole price list. Nothing gets added at the till.
- The Classic $32 Haircut, hot towel, straight-razor neckline.
- Cut and beard $48 The one most people book. Haircut plus a full beard shape.
- Beard trim $22 Hot lather, line-up, mustache included.
- Royal hot shave $40 Full straight-razor shave, two towels, aftershave. Allow 45 minutes.
- Father and son $55 Two cuts back to back. Saturday mornings, mostly.
- Under twelves $22 Lollipop is not optional.

Word of mouth is most of how this shop stays busy.
Nine years, same shop, same handshake on the way out. I have never once had to explain what I want.
Got the whole wedding party through in one morning and gave my best man his first straight-razor shave. They were patient with all of us.
My son used to scream through haircuts. Here he sits still and asks when we are going back. I do not know how they do it.
